While some equate dressing up their pets with a mild form of animal abuse, dog apparel continues to be quite popular with small dog enthusiasts. In some cases, dog clothing can have actual benefits; a dog jacket if you live in a cold climate, for instance. However, in most instances, pet apparel is strictly ornamentation.

Dog apparel comes in a staggering variety. From simple headbands to haute couture, there is something for nearly every dog owner and every budget. Even some of today’s hottest fashion designers have gotten in on the doggie fashion industry.

While most dog apparel is designed for smaller dogs such as terriers and poodles, there are clothing options for larger breeds as well. Most large dog clothing will have to be found online, as few pet stores carry costumes for large breeds. But with a little time on the internet, you will inevitably find something for your larger dog.
